LeapFrog Mr. Pencil Scribble and Write is a favorite toy in our house. It is an engaging electronic learning system. One thing I love about unschooling is keeping our home full of resources (with no expectations for use).

Check it out!

Mr. Pencil was gifted this past Christmas, and just this week, my youngest has figured out how to trace letters and shapes. This toy has activities to trace uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and shapes, in a step-by-step fashion. Once successfully traced, there is a fun animation the user experiences.

If you have a child that can’t trace letters, there is a free drawing activity to draw anything they want. Do you have a child that can already write basic letters? There is an activity to do spelling practice. This is a fun toy, and I love that it isn’t too loud. I highly recommend it!
