Good Inside: A Guide to Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by Dr. Becky Kennedy has jumped to the top of my recommended parenting books. On top of its valuable information, it avoids the guilt and shame a reader sometimes feels when reading parenting books. Good Inside is the parenting book I’ve been waiting for all these years.

Check it out!

I have loved Dr. Becky’s platform and regret that her book sat on my shelf for a year before reading it. This book was personally meaningful because I struggle with people-pleasing and perfectionism. Kennedy stresses that parents must become good at repairing because we will always make mistakes. She guides parents on what to do after these mistakes occur. Talk about paramount! Many parents are unsure of what to do afterward.

If Dr. Becky is new to you, check out her TED talk. It will give you a taste of what she has to offer (which is a lot). I especially loved all the introspective questions throughout the book. It causes the reader to reflect within. Because of this, Good Inside will be included in my parenting books blog post as well as my cycle-breakers post. Lots of learning and growing await you. Parenting is hard and this book will give you the hope you need.  Read it! You can thank me later.
