Bathe in the Forest

This next book was such a fascinating read. Have you heard of forest bathing? Fun fact: it doesn’t involve water! Let’s dig in.

Forest Bathing: How Trees Can Help You Find Health and Happiness by Dr. Qing Li was such an interesting read for me. A natural tree hugger, I’ve always been in awe of trees. This book breaks down the many benefits we can receive from trees if we walk among them.

Check it out!

Do you need to boost your immune system? Get better sleep? Improve your mental health? Reduce your stress? Li writes with detail and clarity that being with trees and walking through the forest can improve so many aspects of our lives.

I remember lying in bed, recovering from my twin delivery, and asking my partner to open up the window blinds so I could see the trees. My natural intuition to see the trees makes sense now as the book mentions a study done where hospital patients with a window view of nature recovered faster than those with a view of a brick wall.

While there is a vast amount of information to savor, the photography in this book alone is worth it.  There are so many gorgeous shots of trees, wildlife, and more. The book mentions the many forests in Japan. I hope to make it there someday.
